    Valencia in Contrast

    Duration3 Days
    CountrySpain

Fifteenth-century silk merchants and Santiago Calatrava's white structures share Valencia, and that contrast is the syllabus. Over three days your group reads the City of Arts and Sciences as landmark-led regeneration, traces medieval trade inside the UNESCO-listed Silk Exchange and climbs the Torres de Serranos above the Turia Gardens. A free second afternoon leaves room for faculty modules.

    Day by Day

    1

    Day 1

Arrival & the Architecture of Tomorrow

Your group lands at Valencia Airport, where the Tour Manager greets the students and escorts them to the City of Arts and Sciences. A guided tour of Santiago Calatrava's white structures frames the day's debate: how iconic landmark buildings can rebrand a city, drive tourism and trigger urban regeneration. Optional interior visits to the Oceanogràfic or the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum are available. Check-in follows, then a traditional welcome dinner. Overnight in Valencia.

    2

    Day 2

    Silk Exchange & Merchant Heritage

After breakfast the group leaves the futuristic skyline behind for Valencia's Golden Age. A morning walking tour threads the Casco Histórico and the Barrio del Carmen's labyrinthine streets before reaching La Lonja de la Seda, the fifteenth-century Gothic hall where international traders negotiated silk contracts, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The afternoon stays open: free time for independent exploration or a specialised technical visit from the optional add-ons. Dinner and overnight in Valencia.

    3

    Day 3

    Serranos Towers & Departure

The final morning sets Valencia in perspective. After breakfast and check-out, the private coach takes the group to the Torres de Serranos, one of the largest Gothic city gates in Europe. Students climb to the viewing platforms for a panoramic sweep of the skyline and the Turia Gardens, showing how the city's expansion has integrated heritage preservation with green urban planning. The private coach then transfers the group to Valencia Airport for departure.
