Maritime Trade, Lisbon to Faro
Ports are the subject here, not the backdrop. Over three days your group follows Portugal's maritime economy from Lisbon's rebuilt trading districts and the imperial quays of Belém to the naval technology of the Navy Museum and the deep-water terminals of Sines, before closing in Faro's Vila Adentro, where an ancient harbour meets a modern southern logistics corridor.
Day by Day
Day 1
Arrival & Lisbon's Trading Core
Your group lands at Lisbon Airport, where our Tour Manager is waiting for the private transfer to the accommodation. The afternoon is a guided walk through the historic trading districts of Baixa and Chiado, taking in Rossio Station and Praça do Comércio, reading the city's architectural recovery after 1755 and its former role as a global trading capital. The walk frames Lisbon's strategic position in Atlantic trade before a group dinner. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 2
Belém, Port of Sines & Faro
After breakfast, a session on the Belém waterfront, where cargo ships, cruises, sailboats and tourist craft form one port-city interface. Your group explores the Belém Tower, symbol of imperial control over maritime routes, analyses the Monument to the Discoveries and visits the Navy Museum for the naval technology behind global trade. The private coach runs south to the Port of Sines, Portugal's largest deep-water port, for a technical stop. Group dinner and overnight in Faro.
Day 3
Faro's Vila Adentro & Departure
After breakfast, a guided walking tour through Faro's Vila Adentro, the Old Town. The session looks at Faro's historical infrastructure and its strategic importance as a gateway towards the Mediterranean, analysing the defensive and commercial layout of the ancient harbour and linking the region's maritime past with its present identity as a southern logistics corridor. A direct private transfer then takes your group to Faro Airport for the journey home, closing the programme.
