    Exploring Greece and Its Islands

    Duration10 Days
    CountryGreece

Twenty-five centuries of history unfold at a pace designed for senior travellers — never rushed, always comfortable. Athens, Delphi and Olympia anchor the mainland half of these ten unhurried days before ferries glide to Mykonos and Santorini, trading ancient stones for whitewashed lanes and a final sunset over the caldera at Oia.

    Day by Day

    1

    Day 1

    Arrival in Athens

A warm welcome awaits at Athens Airport, where your senior-specialist Tour Manager greets the group for the private transfer to a centrally located 4★ hotel. The rest of the day is free to rest after the flight or take a gentle first stroll through the Plaka's flower-draped lanes. A relaxed welcome dinner opens the journey. Overnight in Athens.

    2

    Day 2

    The Acropolis & Classical Athens

The morning is devoted to the Acropolis, taken slowly with a licensed guide — the Parthenon, the Erechtheion's caryatids and sweeping views over the city, with lifts and rest stops planned along the way. After lunch, the Acropolis Museum displays the treasures found on the sacred rock. The evening brings dinner at a traditional taverna beneath the floodlit Parthenon.

    3

    Day 3

Delphi — Navel of the Ancient World

A scenic drive through olive groves and mountain passes reaches Delphi, perched on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. A gently paced guided walk follows the Sacred Way to the Temple of Apollo, where the famous oracle once spoke, with the museum's bronze Charioteer as the highlight. The return to Athens is broken by an unhurried late lunch in Arachova.

    4

    Day 4

The Corinth Canal & On to Olympia

Heading west into the Peloponnese, the coach pauses at the Corinth Canal, a dramatic ribbon of water cut through sheer rock walls. The drive continues at an easy pace along the coast, with a long lunch stop overlooking the Gulf. By late afternoon your group checks in near Olympia for a quiet evening and dinner together. Overnight in Olympia.

    5

    Day 5

Ancient Olympia, Birthplace of the Games

The morning explores ancient Olympia with a licensed guide: the gymnasium, the Temple of Zeus and the original stadium where the Games began in 776 BC — walked gently, with shade and benches never far away. After lunch, the coach returns towards Athens along the coastal road, arriving in time for a restful evening. Overnight in Athens.

    6

    Day 6

    Ferry to Mykonos

A morning transfer brings your group to the port of Piraeus for the comfortable ferry crossing to Mykonos, with reserved seating throughout. On arrival, a private transfer runs to the hotel and the rest of the day stays free — the harbourfront of Little Venice and the island's famous windmills are steps away. Overnight in Mykonos.

    7

    Day 7

    Mykonos at Leisure

A whole day to enjoy Mykonos without a schedule. The morning might mean the lanes of the old town, built like a maze to confuse pirates, or simply a seafront café with the fishing boats below. The afternoon is free for the beach, shopping or a swim, and the evening for dinner watching the windmills catch the sunset. Overnight in Mykonos.

    8

    Day 8

    Ferry to Santorini

A late-morning ferry glides south across the Aegean to Santorini, the crescent island wrapped around its volcanic caldera. The transfer climbs to your caldera-view hotel, and the afternoon is free to settle in and enjoy the panorama — white villages balanced on cliffs of red and black rock, with the sea seven hundred feet below. Overnight in Santorini.

    9

    Day 9

Santorini & the Sunset of Oia

A gentle morning drive visits Fira's marble lanes and cathedral before the afternoon rests at leisure. As evening approaches, the group travels to Oia for the moment the whole Aegean waits for: the sun sinking into the sea beyond the blue-domed churches. A farewell dinner overlooking the caldera celebrates ten days of Greece. Overnight in Santorini.

    10

    Day 10

    Farewell from Santorini

After a final breakfast above the caldera there is time for a last photograph or an unhurried coffee before your Tour Manager coordinates the private transfer to Santorini Airport, assisting with check-in and luggage. Ten gently paced days — from the Parthenon to the oracle of Delphi to the islands — end with the Aegean light behind you.
