    Madrid & Its Kingdoms

    Duration8 Days
    CountrySpain

"Madrid & Its Kingdoms" bases your group in the capital for seven nights and reaches out by high-speed regional train to two UNESCO old towns — Toledo's "city of three cultures" and Segovia beneath its Roman aqueduct — before a full day of via ferrata, climbing and canoeing in the Sierra de Guadarrama. In Madrid, the Prado and Reina Sofía sit alongside a flamenco class, a tapas route and a student cooking battle.

    Day by Day

    1

    Day 1

    Madrid (Arrival)

Arrival and transfer to the hotel come first, followed by a team-based welcome gymkhana through the historic centre — Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Villa — with riddles, photo challenges and timed missions along the way. A welcome dinner with a Spanish menu follows, the gymkhana's winning team choosing its table and dessert first, before supervised free time on Gran Vía.

    2

    Day 2

Madrid — Art and the Park

A Prado Museum visit, in English-speaking subgroups, takes in Velázquez, Goya and El Greco. The afternoon moves to Retiro Park for a rowboat outing and photography around the Palacio de Cristal, and the evening brings a flamenco class with a professional dancer, closing with each team's own thirty-second choreography.

    3

    Day 3

Madrid — Modern History and Gastronomy

The Reina Sofía Museum, free for under-18s, centres on Guernica as a way into the Spanish Civil War. In the afternoon, a guided bike tour covers Gran Vía, the Royal Palace, Plaza de España and the Temple of Debod, and the evening turns into a tapas route through the Mercado de San Miguel, teams scoring dishes on a "flavour mission" card.

    4

    Day 4

    Toledo (Full-Day Excursion)

A 33-minute Avant train from Atocha reaches Toledo for a guided walk through the Cathedral and the "Three Cultures" quarter. In the afternoon, after visiting the Alcázar's exterior and Army Museum, teams race a timed "Toledo in 90 minutes" photo challenge through the old Jewish quarter. The group returns by train, with dinner and a symbolic prize for the winning team.

    5

    Day 5

    Segovia (Full-Day Excursion)

A short Avant train ride reaches Segovia-Guiomar for the Roman Aqueduct and the historic centre. The afternoon covers the Alcázar and the Cathedral, with a group photo session beneath the Aqueduct and an optional tasting of cochinillo, judged in an informal "best food critic" contest. The group returns to Madrid for a short leadership workshop before the evening ends.

    6

    Day 6

Sierra de Madrid — Adventure and Sustainability

A coach ride of about fifty minutes reaches the Sierra de Guadarrama for a timed adventure circuit — an introductory via ferrata, a climbing wall or ropes park with ziplines — followed by canoeing in pairs on the Santillana reservoir. The day closes with a barbecue dinner and a campfire evening of stories and music.

    7

    Day 7

Madrid — Innovation, Leadership and Gastronomy

A visit to an innovation space, with a talk from a working professional, sets up a short team mini-project. In the afternoon, teams compete in a timed Spanish cooking battle — tortilla, tapas, paella — judged by a jury with a trophy for the winners. A farewell dinner follows, with live music, dancing and light-hearted team awards.

    8

    Day 8

    Madrid (Departure)

The morning is free for a team souvenir hunt — the challenge is finding "the best souvenir with a story" — before a closing circle where each team shares its best memory of the trip in sixty seconds. A private transfer takes the group to the airport in the afternoon.
